Our Year 2 Graphic Design & Motion Graphics students recently took part in project reviews of their exhibition identity design project. Each student researched an unrealised but seminal architectural project ranging from Cedric Price’s Potteries Thinkbelt and Oskar Hansen’s Auschwitz Memorial to Lebbeus Woods entry for the new World Trade Centre competition and Hyperbuilding by OMA and Rem Koolhaas. After deciding on an appropriate location and intended aim for an exhibition based on this piece of architecture they designed exhibition furniture, interactive display systems, custom typefaces, visual identities and promotional materials. These designs were influenced conceptually by the architectural concepts and their social and political contexts.
