Prototypes. Today year 1 Graphic Art students explored the importance of testing ideas throughout the creative process. Within a one day workshop students constructed prototypes to explore their work within a museum context. The workshop links to a current assignment entitled ‘Synthesize & Articulate’. Within this assignment students were asked to create a proposal for a visual language to represent a culture from the British Museum in London. The project started with a 2 day field trip to the Museum and introduces a structured process of visual analysis allowing students to gain insights to build a visual language appropriate to the specific culture.
