The great Grayson Perry has been allowed to ‘go mad’ (his words, not mine) in the British Museum, rummaging through their vast collection. The result is a show, curated by himself, of selected artefacts made by unknown craftsmen through the ages presented alongside his own artworks. If you’ve ever found museums of antiquities hard-going this exhibition could resolve that…It’s definitely worth a visit.
On Friday 18 November Perry is also giving a talk at the museum about the interests that spur his work on and which inspired the exhibition.
If you’re not acquainted with Perry the Tate visited him in his Walthamstow studio where he spoke about his pottery and process – watch the interview
